RESOLUTION NO. 3009
A RESOLUTION of the City Council of the City of
Bremerton, Washington, establishing a hearing date for the
proposed ordinance authorizing a multi-family property tax
exemption and the designation of a residential targeted area in
downtown Bremerton for application of the tax exemption.
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to consider adoption of an ordinance which
would provide limited ten year exemptions from ad valorem property taxation for multi-family
housing in designated residential targeted areas; and ~
WHEREAS, The proposed residential targeted area for the multi-family property
tax exemption is within the Downtown Core and Multiple Residential zones as set forth in
Exhibit "A" attached to this resolution and located within an urban center as defined by Chapter
84.14 RCW and as designated in the City's comprehensive plan; and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to provide limited ten year exemptions from
ad valorem property taxation for multi-family housing in designated residential targeted areas;
NOW THEREFORE,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BREMERTON, WASHINGTON,
DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. A public hearing will be held on October 4,2006, at 5:30 p.m. or
later in the City Council Chambers at the Norm Dicks Government Center, First Floor, 345 Sixth
Street, Bremerton, Washington, to take public testimony or consider written comments to the
proposed ordinance authorizing a multi-family property tax exemption and the designation of a
residential targeted area in downtown Bremerton for application of the tax exemption.
SECTION 2. Severabilitv. If anyone or more sections, subsections, or
sentences of this Resolution are held to be unconstitutional or invalid, such decision shall not affect
the validity of the remaining portion of this Resolution and the same shall remain in full force and
effect.
SECTION 3. Effective Date. This Resolution shall take effect and be in force
immediately upon its passage.
