CITY COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES
VVednesday,August23,2006
The weekly meeting of the City Council of the City of Bremerton was called to order in the City
Council Chambers, of the NORM DICKS GOVERNMENT CENTER 345 6th Street, Bremerton,
VVashington, VVednesday, August 23, 2006, at 5:30 PM, with Council President Cecil McConnell
presiding. Council members present were Nick VVofford, VVill Maupin, Carol Arends, Dianne
Robinson, Mike Shepherd, VVendy Priest, and Adam Brockus. Council Member Brad Gehring was
absent. Also present were City Attorney Roger Lubovich; Deputy City Clerk Cherie Henry; and
Legislative Assistant Lori Smith.
The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Council Member Dianne Robinson followed by the
invocation provided by Pastor Dennis Payne of Ebenezer African Methodist Episcopal Church.
President McConnell announced that a Pre-Council Session to discuss General Council
Business was held in Council Conference Room 603 from 5:00 to 5:30 PM; and invited the public
to attend the Council STUDY SESSION in Council Conference Room 603 immediately following the
Council Meeting.
PUBLIC RECOGNITION & ANNOUNCEMENTS
. Vivian Henderson, representing the Kitsap Alliance of Property Owners, was here to learn more
about the ordinance that would provide a property tax exemption for new multi-family housing in
designated areas, and asked the Council to consider this proposal carefully.
CONSENT AGENDA
A. Check Numbers 310788 through 310890; EFT-9154; and EFT-9162 through EFT-9174 in the
amount of $704,668.56 (#AB06-179)
There were no comments from the public.

VVith no further business, the meeting of the City Council was adjourned at 5:35 PM. The Council
reconvened in Council Conference Room 603 for a STUDY SESSION to hear presentations on
upcoming agenda items.
