WHEREAS, the Superintendent of the Water Department of the City of Bremerton, 8nd
IIoward I. Gorst, Corm,~issioner of Public Works and Utilities, have recon~ended to the City
Council of the City of Bremerton that the followin~ described real property, a part of
the water shed of the City of Bremerton, should be acquired by the City of Bremerton for
the purpose of protecting the water supply of the City of Bremerton:
West half of the Northeast quarter of Section 30, Township 24 il. R.
I E.W.~f.., Kitsap County, Washington,
and
WHEREAS, the City Council has previously instructed the Commissioner of Public Works
and. Utilities to offer the sttm of ~$6400.00 to the owner of the said property for a deed
conveying good, merchantable title to the same, and
~EREAS, the owner of the said property, Earl B. Smith, ~as advised the City Council,
by letter dated December 1S, 194~, that he is willing to accept the said offer and the
City Council believing that t~ue said sum is a fair and reasonable price to be paid to
the said Smith for the said real property,
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Co~n~cil of the City of Bremerton that the
City proceed to purchase the said real property for the total purchase price of
that the ~layor and the City Clerk execute a warrs~t 8rawn on the Current Water Fund, in
safd st~.u, to the order of Earl B. Smith, and that the said wa~.'rant be delivered to the
said Smith on the furnishing of a deed and policy of title insurance, and following exam-
ination of said deed and said title ins~n-ance and approval of the same by the City Attorney.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Bremerton, slg~ne~ by the ~'~,ayor, and
attested by the City Clerk in authentication of such passage, this 22nd day of December,
1943.
