%~HEREAS, the 1943 budget of the City of Bremerton sets up under "Health" the
s~m of $1500.00 for salary and wages of "Health Officer," together with an item of
i~160.00 for maintenance and operation, and total salaries are set up in said budget
under the heading, "Public Health Service," in the s~ of ~3880.00, and the minutes
and records of the Bremerton City Council show the appointment of Russell H. Wilson
as "Health Officer" without salary, and show that Dr. D. H. Polk has resigned as
Health Officer and has been appointed as Police Surgeon"; and it is desirable to
make a more complete record as to the duties and status of ~r. D. H. Polk,
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, That Dr. D. H. Polk is now and at all times
during the year 1945 has been one of the health officers of the City of Bremerton,
w~.th duties as police surgeon, being the physician in charge of the city jail and
subject to examine prisoners at all times.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the budget appropriation of .~1500.00 for salary and
wa~es and ~)160.00 for maJntenance and operation for the year 1943 is the budget
allowance for the health officer of the City of Bremerton having duties as police
surgeon and as long as he remains in such capacity, Dr. D. }~. Folk shall be entitled
· to receive the total budgeted salary amount of ~$125.00 per month.
PASSED by the C~.ty Council of the City of Bremerton, signed by the Mayor, and
attested by the City Clerk in authentication of such passage, this ~Oth day of
January, 1943.
