..~EREAS, the City of Bremerton holds an option for the purchase o£ the
following described real property:
The Southeast quarter of the Southeast suarter, Section 16, Township
24 i'!orth, Range 1 East, ',~.I.,~., Kitsat~ County, i'~ashington,
and
Lots 1 to 7 inclusive, t~lat of Fernwood, Kitsap County, Nashington,
flor the total purchese price of ~4,500.00, to be oaid to the owners of the said
,r,roperty, namely, Adrian Karts and tIenney Aarts, his wife, as follows: !~1000.00
in cash and the balance in the sum of !!;~,500.00 in eoual annual installments of
.?,250.00 each, plus interest not to exceed six per cent per annum, and
'~-IEREAS, the said option will expire on the 26th day of August, 1940, and
W{ERE/\S, the said option was granted at the time the city acsuired the right
to dump garbage in a sanitary fill on the said pro.perty and is rapidly being
improved by the fillin? in of a large ~ully, end the City Co~rm~ission is of the
unanimous o]~inion that the said option should Se exercised in the best interest
of public health and sanitation, now therefore,
~E IT RESOLVED, by the City Cormuission of the City of Bremerton that the
City of Bremerton purchase the real !~roperty hereinbefore described upon the
terms herein set out, all r~,ayments therefor to be made by warrents o~ the llealth
and Sanitation Department.
BE IT FIlThIER RES¢I. VED that the City Clerk be and he is hereby instructed to
notify Adrien Karts and t!enney Karts, his wiffe, by mailing to them by registered
mail a certified copy of this resolution, that the o-ption herein referred to,
being that certain option si~ned 'by said Adrian Karts and wife on August 26,
before i~.!errill R. Wallace, l~4otary tublic, be and the said option is hereby
exercised and the City Commission hereby elects to buy the said real f:.roperty,
upon the terms set forth in the said option.
BE IT FURT~F~ZR RESOLVED that a warrant be drawn on the t!ealth & Sanitation
De[~srtment of the City of Bremertcn, and dated August 25, 1940, in favor of said
Adri~n Aarts and Henney Karts, his w~fe, in the sum of ~1000.00, and that the
said warrent be held and delivered to the said Adrian Karts and wife upon the
siening of a real estage contract to be dated August ~$, 1940, pursuant to the
terms of the said option.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the ~(ayor and City Clerk of the City of Bremerton
he -~nd are hereby authorized and directed to si~n such real estate cohtract and
deliver said warrant to said ~drian Aarts and wife, upon the approval of said
contract ~nd the a!~proval of the title to the said property by the City Attorney.
