A RESOLUTION relating to and declaring the need for a Housing Authority in
the City of Bremerton.
~EREAS, there is a shortage of safe and sanitary dwelling accomodations
in the City of Bremerton available to persons of low income at rentals they
can afford, and
~,g~IEREAS, said shortage is primarily caused by influx of employees in the
Puget Sound Navy Yard due to emergent needs for national defense, and
WHEREAS, the City Commission deems it desirable that any project or pro-
jests that may be developed pursuant to this resolution shall immediately
revert to low rent housing t~rojects and be subject to the provisions of
"Sections 2, (1) and Z (Z) of the United States Housing Act of 1937" as soon
ns the emergency housing needs of the national defense program are over,
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ~ESOLVED BY TH~ CITY C0~ISSION OF THE CITY OF
BREMERTON, that based upon the above recital, which is hereby incorporated
by reference as the ~indings of the City Commission of Bremerton, there is a
need for the functioning of a Housing Authority ih the City of ~remerton, as
contemplated and created by the Housing Authority law in the 19~9 Session Laws
of the State of Washington.
PASSED by the City Commission of the City of Bremerton, st~ned by the
~ayor, and attested 0y the City Clerk in authentication of such passage, this
17th day of July, 19~0.
