'~REAS, the Kiwanis Club of Bremerton, a corporation, has constructed on
the ,Varren ~venue ~layfield, a substantial building at a cost of several
thousand dollars, with the consent and approval of the City Commission of the
City of !~remerton, for the use of the various Youth Organizations of Bremerton
and Kitsap County, and has expressed a willingness to maintein the said build-
ing insured from loss by fire, and to be responsible for the management ~nd
conkol of said building,
Y0'.¥ THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Commission of the City of
Bremerton, that the City Commission hereby ex~ress to the Kiwanis Club its
sincere thanks and approval for the erection of the said building and for
the fine community spirit of constructive service sho~am by the ~[iwanis Club
in connection therewith.
B[~ IT FURTHE9 RESOLVED that the City Commission hereby grants to the
Kiwanis Club the right to use and to supervise the use of the said buildins for
the benefit of such Youth Organizations of Bremerton and Kitsap County as it
shall see fit, and the further right of altering and the re!oairing of said build-
in~ without securin~ any further permission from the city Commission of the City
of !~remerton except the obtaining of permits therefor, resuired by city ordinance,
from the city building inspector.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the said Kiwanis Club is hereby authorized to
procure fire insurance on said building in the name of the City of Bremerton and
the Kiwanis Club, as their respective interests shall appear.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that in the event of damage of said building by
fire, the proceeds of such insurance shall be used for the repairing or re-build-
~.ng of said structure under the direction of the said Kiwanis Club.
PASSED by the City Com~.ission of the City of Bremerton, signed by the
Mayor, attested by the City Clerk in authentication of such passage, this 5th
day of June, 1940.
