WHEREAS, there are a great number of citizens in the City of Bremerton who play
softball regularly and who have formed a league with a regular schedule of games and
a great number of their friends and the public generally attends the said games, and
there is no suitable place for the holding of such ball games at night in the City of
Bremerton, and
~ ~WIERE~3, the stockholders and members of Kit~ap County Amateur Athletic Associa-
tion, a corporatioH~, have interested themselves in softball and have agreed to stand
all the expenses of preparing a field suitable for playing softball at night, provid-
ing the City of Bremerton would make available a suitable space in the unimproved
portion of Forrest Ridge Park, and the real property hereinafter described has been
s~rveyed by the City Engineer, and the City Commission and Kitsap County Amateu?
Athletlc Association, have investigated the said location and it will be suitable for
a field for softball, and the said corporation desires to have a lease on said pro?arty
in view of the substantial investment that they intend to make in improving the said
premises, said real property being fully described as follows:
Starting at the Southwest corner of Blackwell Garden Tracts, Kitsap
County, Washington; thence East zee feet to true point of beginning;
thence South 46~ feet; thence East ~ez feet; thence South approxi-
mately 160 feet to the boundary of the property owned by Lilltan W.
Brown; thence East 76~.74 feet; thence North 6~ feet to the North
margin of said Forrest Ridge Park; thence ~est 481.74 feet to true
point of beginning, Kitsap County, Washington,
Now therefore,
BE IT ~ESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF BREMERTON That the ~ayor and
City Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to sign on behalf of the City of Bremerto~'~
as lessor, a lease with the Kttsap County Amateur Athletic Association, a corporation,
as lessee, for a period of five (5) years, with an option of renewal for an add~tional
period of five (5) years, at a rental rate of One Dollar ($1.00) per year, whereunder
and whereby the hereinbefore described real property is leased to the said lessee; the
form of said lease having been read to the City Commission and having been approved by
the City Attorney as to form.
PASSED by the City Commission of the C~ty of Bremerton in regular session assembled
signed by the ~ayro, and attested by the City Clerk in authentication of such passage,
this 2nd day of July, 1941.
