RESOLUTION NO. 11
WHEREAS, the County of Kitsap, State of Washington, foreclosed for
general taxes on the following described real property, to-wit, Lots 15
and 16, Block 17, Reese's First Addition to Port Orchard, united States
Navy Yard, Kitsap County, Washington, and the said property was struck
off to the said Kitsap County at the tax foreclosure sale; and that at
the time of such foreclosure sale, there were delinquent assessments
against the said property payable to different local improvement districts
in the City of Bremerton, and the City of Bremerton did pay to Kitsap
County the taxes thereon as by law provided and has now a Treasurer's
Deed to the said property, and the said City of Bremerton is desirous
of selling said property to pay the taxes and delinquent assessments
assessed against the said real property,
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Commission of the City
of Bremerton, that the Mayor and City Clerk thereof, be and they are
hereby authorized and directed to sell said above described property to
Mary J. Herbert, a widow, for the total purchase price of Eight Hundred
($800.00) Dollars, and for that purpose to enter into a contract with
the said Mary J. Herbert, a widow, for said sale in the name of the City
of Bremerton, the said contract to provide for a cash payment of $160.00,
and the balance in the sum of $640.00 payable in monthly installments of
$15.00 per month, plus interest at seven per cent per annum, payable at
the time said installments are paid, the said contract to provide that the
purchaser shall pay the taxes and assessments hereinafter l~vied, and pro-
vide that time be the essence of the contract, with forfeiture of moneys
paid, in the event that the purchase price is not paid within the time
provided therein, and also to execute a deed in the name of the City of
Bremerton in favor of said Mary J. Herbert, a Widow, the said deed to be
retained by the City Clerk uhtil the full purchase price is paid,
together with interest thereon,'and to be delivered to said purchaser
at such time as the said purchase price and interest are paid in full.
PASSED by the City Commission of the City of Bremerton, signed by
the Mayor and attested by the .City Clerk in authentication of such passage,
on the 22nd day of January, 1941.
