~NHEREAS, the County of Kitsap, State of Washington, foreclosed for
general taxes on Lot 3, Block 4, except west of Marlowe and except street,
Decatur Acre Tracts, Kitsap County, State of 'Nashington, and the said
property was struck off to the said Kitsap County at the tax foreclosure
sale; and that at the time of such foreclosure sale, there were delinquent
assessments against said property payable to different local improvement
districts in the City of Bremerton, and the City of Bremerton did pay to
Kitsap County the taxes thereon as by law provided, and now has a Treasurer's
deed to said property, and the said City of Bremerton is desirous of sellin~
said property to pay the taxes and delinquent assessments assessed against
the said real property,
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Commission of the City of
Bremerton, that the ~ayor and City Clerk thereof be and they are hereby
authoriwed and directed to sell said above described real property to
~ilton D. Lanway and Mary E. Lanway, his wife, for the total purchase
price of Eighteen Hundred ($1800.00) Dollars, and for that purpose to enter
into a contract with the said Milton D. Lanway and ~ary E. Lanway, his wife,
for said sale in the name of the City of Bremerton; the said contract to
provide for a cash payment of $360.00 down, and the balance in the sum of
$1440.00 payable at the rate of $40.00 per month, plus interest at seven
per cent per annum, payable at the time said installment payments are paid;
the said contract to provide that the purchasers shall pay the taxes and
assessments hereafter levied and to provide that time be the essence of
~he contract, with forfeiture of moneys paid, in the event that the purchase
price is not paid within the time provided therein; and also to execute a
deed in the name of the City of Bremerton in favor of said Milton D. Lanway
and Mary E. Lanway, his wife, the said deed to be retained by the City Clerk
until the full purchase price is paid, together with interest thereon, and
to be delivered to said purchasers at such time as the said purchase price
and interest is paid in'full.
PASSED by the City Commission of the City of Bremerton, signed by the
Mayor, and attested by the City Clerk in authentication of such passage,
this 8th day of January, 1941.
