,',%~E~<EA.$, the City of Bremerton, ss lessor, executed a lease on ~srch 29, 1941, in
favor of the United States of America, as lessee, which included, with other ~ro?erty,
Lot 10, Tract 6, ~arren Smith's ~cre Tracts, and
· ~EREAS, at the time of the execntton off the said lease the City of Bremerton was
and no~v is the owner of the west half of said Lot 10, Tract 6, b~srren Smith's Acre Tracts,
but was not and is not now the owner of the following described portion of said tr~ct, the
east halff of said Lot 10, Tract 6, ~'arren Smith's Acre Tracts, the true legal owner
theseof being Hannah '/~. Frovost, and
~'HE'IEAS, the said lease to the United States of America was executed for the furu~ose
off the construction on said demised premises of a housing project known as the Duration
Dormitories, and the said project has been completed and no utilization has been made by
the United States of ~erica of said east half of Lot 10, Tract 6, '.~arren Smith's Acre
Tracts, which is not needed by the United States ~ver~ent in connection with the said
project, and the Citv of ~remerton is now contemplating the ~urchase of said real property
from Hannah /l. ~'rovost for the purpose of constructing thereon a recreation center, with
funds to be supplied by the Federal government through a Defense Fublic Works ~rant, and
it is necessary and advisable that the matter of title to the said property be cleared,
~0W TtiE:tEFO~E, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Co~ission of the City of Bremerton that
the City Commission requests that the United States of ~erica, by and through its Farm
Security ~ninistration, relinquish the following described real property from the pro-
v~sions of the said lease, and cancel the said lease as to the said real property, to-wit,
the East half of Lot 10, Tract 6, .','arren Smith's Acre Tracts, Kitsap County, State of
/~ashington.
