WHEREAS, the department of city government which had been previously known as the
Garbage Department, was by resolution of the City Commission, dated May 20, 1939,
designated as "Health and Sanitation Department" and since said time has been and now
is properly known as the "Health and Sanitation Department", and
WHEREAS, the health officer of the City of Bremerton has requested that the name of
the said department be changed to "Sanitation Department" because of confusion arising
out of the name "Health and Sanitation Department."
NOW THEREFOME, BE IT RESOLVED by the ~ity Commission of the City of Bremerton that
the city depart~ent having charge of the collection of garbage and refuse and heretofore
known as the "Health and Sanitation Department" shall be known from and after this date
as the "Sanitation Department" and the City Clerk, City Treasurer, and other officers,
officials, and employees of the City of Bremerton are hereby directed to make such
changes in their records as may be necessary or advisable in order to properly carry out
the change of name of the said department to the !~Sanitation Department."
PASSED by the City Commission, signed by the Mayor, and attested b:~ the City Clerk
in authentication of such passage, this 21st day of August, 1942.
