RESOLUT.ION NO. 244
WNER~AS, the State of Washington in carrying out its improvement of Primary State
Hfghway #21, ?,remerton to Kitsay Lake, has purchased certain property o,t which part of
the Hillside Ima is located, and
Wf.~E~?EAS, the State has arranged with the owner of said structure tibet the buf_l¢ling
be moved to the West and relocated wi th its floor level 18 inches higher than st ] ts
present l. ocat~on, and it is necessary for ingress and egress to an~] fr.:m safe] b~]ld~n~
that the owner of same be given ~:~ermission to excavate and remove certain earth
from the northerly side of Sixth Street to make sa~d street usable for the genera]
public for such ingress and egress,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT R~,$OLVED that Thomas F. Rowan, owner of Lots 18, 1.9 an~t 20,
Block ]~, Secon~ Addition to Charleston, Kitsap County, V~ashington, is hereby grente~]
permf, sslon to excavate the North 1~ feet of Sixth ~treet abutti~g: sa.~d Lot 20 and t~e
East half of vacated Meade Avenue to e level 18 incha~~ above the preser, t floor level of
the Hills]~]e Inn and in addition to ~]op~ adjoining portions of Sixth Street a reason-
able amount to prevent sliding, providing that such work be <lone under the supervfsIon
and to the satisfaction of bite City En~:~neer and w:]tho~]t cost to the uity of Bremerton;
B~ IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the permis.~ion herein grante~] is in the nature of a
temporary permit and shal], not affect the establishment of a oerrn~n~nt grade f'or

BE IT F[~RTHER RESOLVED that by acceptance of th~ ~erm~ss~.on h~.rein ~:'r~:nte¢] the owners

waive ali claims against the City of Bremerton for ~amages by raaso~ o£ earth s]l~es or
water ~amages to said property.
