WHEREAS property owners residing in the north end of the city, abutti.~g on ea. rt~,
gravel, second-class streets and aveu~es are petition-Lng and requesting the City to
repair and re-surface ssid streets and avenues with a heavy oil such as ~C-2 oil, and
that this type of resurface is considered sufficient to withstaDd heavy rai~s a~d
traffic and a necessary improvement to such streets and avenues, ~d
W~REAS the heavy vol~u of traffic together with large army trucks has ~'a~se~]
considerable d~age to said streets, which w~ll require the C~.ty Street Department to
prepare saf~ streets an~ avenues for resurface of Black Top damaged by Army Trucks and
that it will be necessary to receive assistance from other source th~ the property
owners aSjacent to the streets a~d avenues throughout that section of the City.
NOW, T~REFORE, the City Commission of the City of Bremerton hereby makes applica-
tion requesting the State Itighway Department for funds in the amount of Two Tho~san~
Dollars ($2,000.00) to be grante~ from the State Gas Tsx Funds allocated to t~e C~ty
of Yremerton, to be ose8 for the purchase of MC-2 oil, ~n~ plac,~d upon tha various
streets an~ svenues throughout that section of tl~e City.
PASSED by the City Co~isston of the City of Bremerton, signed by two of a.]~ three
C~ty Co~issiouers, an~ attested by the City Clerk in authentication of :~L~ch passage,
this 6th day of May, 1942.
