WHEREAS, Lt. Col. C. A. Kurtz, C.A.C.U.S. Army, Land and Claims Officer,
bas requested permission by letter dated Febr~ary 16, 1942, for the ~se of the
.following described real property of the City of Bremerton, for the purpose of
national defense, as Hereinafter specifically mentioned, and it is in the interest
of all of the citizens of the C~ty of Bremerton that oe~ssion be gr~ted as
req~ested ~ the said letter so that the I~roperty and lives of fr~b!t~nts
City of Bremerton may be protected,
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the C~ty Commissioa of the C~ty of
that permffssion be granted to the ~OSd Coast Artillery Barrage Balloon ~atts]
to ~se the following described city property for t~e p~rposes here~nsfhe-~
to-wit:
Battalion. Headquarters & Headq~ssrters Battery:-
Property located at southwest corner of 12th and Warren Streets,
on G~rl Scouts Playfield. Prooerty~ fronts ~9~' on ].ith ~,reet~
and ~00' on Warren Avenue.
Battery "C" 2~d Platoon, Headquarters and K~tchen, a~d Ball. con
Detac~hment:- Balloon detachment building to be placed north off
14th St., and i~uedlately east of Sheldon Boulevard. Use of
building in center of Evergreen Park flor Platoon Hesdq~arters
and kitchen.
B~lloon Site:- Northwest corner, West of Charleston' Avenue, and
approximately ~00 feet south and 200 feet West, utilizing north-
west section of ~ountain Ridge Park.
"A" Battery 2nd Platoon, Headq~arters and Kitchen:- Vacant clot
of ground ~.mmediately north o~ Firehouse #2 on Wycoff
Property has 121 feet frontage on Wycoff Avenue between
and Rodgers Streets arid is 100 feet deep, subject, however, to exist-
ing lease between the C~ty of Bre~erton and J. g. Simmons, S2~ ~.
~ontgomery, lessee.

Property located at Nipsic, and l$th and Vandal~.a Streets in

A~thority to use, if required, of north end of fill immediately
east of Evergreen Park as Balloon Site.
