WHEREAS, it is necessary to remove and replace approximately ZTO feet of ~4"
cast iron water main in the vicinity of the Head of the Bay in order to permit the
construction of the Shelton-Bremerton Railroad, and
WHEREAS, Sound-Kiewit Construction Company in charge of such work has tentatively
agreed with the City of Bremerton to employ the Valley Construction Company to do a
certain portion of said work and the City of Bremerton has agreed to furnish materiels
and to do certain work, and the Sound-Kiewit Construction Company has tentatively agreed
to employ the Valley Construction Company direct and to post a cash bond with the City
Clerk of the City of Bremerton in the sum of $3,000.00 to guarantee payment of the
City's expenses to the City of Bremerton, now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and the City Clerk be, and they are hereby authorized
to enter into a contract with the Sound-Kiewit Construction Company providing thau said
contract contains all or substantially all of the termsas above set forth.
PASSED by the City Commission of the City of Bremerton, signed by the ~eyor and
attested by the City Clerk in authentication of such passage this 31st day of August,
1944.
