WHEREAS, E.Jennings Beard, Pharmacist Mate 3/c.
U.S.N.R., was on November 6,1945, elected to the office of
City Clerk of the City of Bremerton, and
WHEREAS, said E.Jennings Beard is still serving in
the U.S.Navy and is stationed at the Puget Sound Navy Yard,
in Bremerton, Washington, now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City
of Bremerton hereby requests the U.S.Navy to give the earliest
possible favorable consideration to the application of
E.Jennings Beard for discharge from the U.S.Navy, for the
purpose of qualifying e_nd accepting the office of City Clerk,
to which he was elected.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that copies of this
resolution be forwarded to the Commandant of the PugetSoun~
Navy Yard, to the Bureau of Navy Personnel, and to Senator
Warren G.Magnueson, Senator Hugh Mitchell and CongressmA,
Hugh DeLacy.
PASSED by the ~City Council of the City of Bremerton,
signed by the me_yor, and attested by the city clerk in
