~HERF~AS, an Initiative Measure entitled,
providi~ for increase in salaries for several officers ~a employees
of the fire department of the city of Bremerton and repealing
ordinance No. 800,No.801 ~d all other ordinances and parts of
ordinances conflicting herewith," has been filed with the City Cler~
cz the City 05' Bremerton, and
V~TEREAS, an Initiative Measure entitled, "An ordin~uce
providing for the fixing of the n~mber of hours per week to be
worked by the firemen of the fire department of the city of Brem-
erton, fixing working schedules therefor, and providing for vacations
and sick leave," has been filed with the City Clerk of the City of
Bremerton, and
'~HEHEAS, the said City Clerk has certified to the s~id city
council that the petitions attached to each of said Initiative
Measures contained the siguatures of registered and quelified
electors of the City of Bremerton equal to twenty-five per cent
of tD~ number of votes cast By ,1~ candidates for the office of
Mayor at the last preceding election, and
V~H~REAS, the City Council of the City of Bremerton has
heretofore rejected each of said Initiative Measures, now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED that a special election shall be held at the
same time and places as the General Election on Novemb er 5,1946,
and the Auditor of Kitsap County is hereby requested 2o give, notice
thereof as required by law, for the purpose of submf tting to the
qualified electors of the City of Bremerton for their approval or
rejection each of said Ini~ative Measures under a ballot title
prepared therefor by' the City Attorney of the City of Bremerton.
PASSED UNANIMOUSLY by the City Council of the City of Brem-
erton, signed by the Mayor, and attested by the City Clerk of the
City of Bremerton in authentication of such passage,this 9th day of
Octob er,l~.
