BE IT RESOL%'ED ~Y i'HE CITY COIRfCIL OF T~E CITY OF BREI~ERTON:
Section 1~ That the public interest requires the following improwements
to be made.
Sec'.;~on 2, That it is the intention of the City Council of the City of
Brem~,rton to order th~ improvement of Ranier Avenue between Thirteenth
Street and Fifteenth Street by clearing, grubbing, grading for sidewalks, c~rbs and
gutters and the construction of concrete sidewalks~ curb and gutters.
together with the doing of any and all other work in connection therewith
as may be necessary to ma.~e such improvements a complete job, all in
accordance with plans and specifications to be placed on file in the office
of the City Clerk in the City of Breme~'ton, reference to which is hereby
nmde for further particulars°
Section 3. The City Engineor of the City of Brem~rton is hereby directed to
submit to the City Council at or p~-ior to the dat~ fixed for h~aring pro-
tests to said improvements, the estimated cost and expense of such an im-
[.~ro~emont~ and a statement of th~ proportionate amount thereof, which should
b~ borne by the property within the proposed assessment district, and a
statement of the aggregate assessed valuation of the real estate, exclusive
of improv~ments, within such proposed district, according to the valuation
last plac,~a upon it for th~ purpos~ of a general taxation, together with a
diagrsau or plan showing th~:r~on the lots, tracts, and parcels of land and
other property which will b,~ specially benefited thereby and the estimated
amount of the cost and oxp~ns¢ of such improvements to b~ born~ by such lot,
tract or parcel of ~nd or other property.
Section ~, That there shall bc assessed against that portion of the
preporty lying between tho termin~ of said improvement and ezte~ding back
from the marglnal line of oach of said streets and alleys so improved to
the middle of the block on ~ch side thereof, which dist.~nce shall be at
lc~st ninety feet from said street margin, in the mode prescribed by
S~ction lp, Chapter ~8 of th~ S~ssion Laws of the State of ~ashington for
l~ll, .~nd S~.ction 2, Chapter 165 for the Session Laws of 1915, of said
St~,te, the cosy, of said improvements excel, pt such as may be borne by any de-
partment of a~,inistration of the Unit~d Stat~s Goverr, ment and except such
~s m~y be born,~ by' ~kv Department or ~dministration of the State of ~f~shing-
ton or the United Statos Gowrr~m~nt for r~li~f or other purposes,
Section 5. The City Clerk be and h~ is hereby directed to gi~'e notice of
the date of such hea. ring ~o each owner or reputed owner of ~ny and all lots,
tracts, or parcels of 1,~nd, or other prop,:.rty, specially benefizcd by 'the
improvement, by m:-~il~ng to thc owner or reputed owner of the property
sho~n on th~ t,_~x rolls of zhe County Treasuror, at the aad:'sss shown thereon,
a notice setting forth the nature of the proposed improvements, the total
ostlers, ted cost ~nd the estimated b~nef~ts to tho particular lot, tract, or '~:
p~rc,~?., ~nd the d.~te of th.~ h(;aring b~fore the City Co~nission at least
d~ys before th.. d:~te fixed h~},rein for such hearing.

Section 6, That Wednesday tho 12th day of Ju~e
1946 , at 10:00 o'clock a.m. of s~id day b~ and th~ same is hereby fixod
as--~¥l~' dat~ of he,ring protest against said improvements by any persons
intar~sted th~.rein; and the City Clerk be and is hereby authorized and
dir~ct~d to publish a copy of this resolution in the official newsp'.~per of
said city for at l~ast two successive issues, t'he first issue sh~xll be at
least 15 d~;ys prior to the date herein fixed for said hearing, and said
p~bli¢~,tion, together with the mailing of the c~rds h~reinabo~e provided to
'thc o~ners or reputed owners of the lots ~nd p.arcels of land included in
such [:nprovemont as hereinbefore sot forth, shall be due and legal notice to
~11 concerned in said proposod impro¥~ments.
