WHER~S,,~ 5be.~5ionel ~ousingAgeno~ baa requested
~ayor o:f t~e City of Bremerton to appoint a Committee to make
reco~eadations on~posZ~war housing needs and disposition of
.temporary war housing, and
?~EREAS~, the City of Bremertom, with its war swollen
population and 6246 units of public housing presents a problem of
major consideration to be solved for the best~interests of the
local community, and .
%~EREAS, a plan. must be pres~nte~~ to 'the National
Ag~acY and the Federal Public Housing Authority that will have
the endorsement of the different interests in the local community
.,~o~e~!:~.ipa~.war:ihOU~!~ nge~e~ disposition of present public
housing and con.unity facilities, disposition of the lands, site
improvements and utilities, the effect of continued utilization of
housing on the local tax structure, snd other inter-related problems,
and
~o~^~,,~,.~, the public spirited citizens of the City ~f Bremer-
ton now serving on the Housing Authsrity of the City of Bremerton
and on the Planning Commission of the City of Bremerton, represent~,~
· .~ the various interests in the City of Bremerton, now therefore,
B~ IT R~SOLL~D by the City Council of the City of Brem~.rton
that the persons serving on the Housing Authority of the City of
Bremerton and the Planning Comm~ssion of the City of Brem-rton,
shall be and are hereby appointed to serve as a Joint Committee,
representing the citizens of the City of Bremerton, to advise the
City Council of the City of Bremerton on all matters relating to
post-war housing needs and disposition of temporary war housing.
BE IT FDRTHER RESOL~D that the ~iayor of the City of Bremer-
ton, the Commandant of the Bremerton Naval Shipyard and the
Executive D~rector of the Housing Authority of the City of Bremerton
shall act as advisors to said Joint Committee, which shall be known
as "Bremerton Committee on Housing Facts and Goals".
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the orga~ ization meeting of
said Joint Committee shall be held on a call of the Mayor of the
City of Bremerton.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Bremerton,
signed by the Mayor, and attested by the City Clerk in
authentication of such passage, this ~ .... day of January,
1946.
