¥~HEREAS, the City of Bremerton has adopted an ordinance
entitled "An ordinance specifying and adopting a system or
plan for the making of certain additions and improvements to
the sewer system of the City of Bremerton, declaring the es-
timated cost thereof as near as may be mad providing a method
for payment thereof and declaring an emergency," dated September
29, 1948; and
WHEREAS, said city has advertised for bids for the construction
of a sewage treatment plant on the Manette or East Bremerton side
of port Washingt~on Narrows, together with pump stations, outfalls,
submarine line and interceptor sewer lines; and the bids having
been opened and referred to James W. Carey & Associates, consult-
lng engineers for tabulation and recommendation; and
WHE~REAS, the consulting engineers have by letter dated September
28, 1948 recommended that contracts be awarded the following bidders
to-wit:
Unit A, sewage Plsnt - Hoagland Finlay Eng. Co.
Unit B, pump Stations - Hoagland Finlay Eng. Co.
Unit C, Outfalls - Malaspin° & Napoli Co.
Unit E, Submarine Line - Henry Finch
and
WHEREAS, the consulting engineers are not prepared at this
time to make any recommendation with reference to the type of
pipe to be used in Unit D, but it appearing that Malaspino &
Napoli Company are low bidders for said unit; now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Bremerton
that the City of Bremerton award contracts for Units A~ B, C and
E and that the MS~ or and City Clerk be authorized to execute such
contracts in behalf of the City of Bremerton ; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a letter be directed by the City

clerk to Malaspino & Napoli Company, advising them that they
are the successful bidders for Unit D a~d that they will be
notified of the type of pipe to be used prior to the date of
expiration of said bids and that upon advice from the consult-
ing engineer as to the type of pipe to be used in said unit, the
~iayor an~ ~ity Clerk be a~ thorized to execute the appropriate
contract with Malaspino & Napoli Company.
Passed by the City Council of the City of Bremerton, signed
by the ~Iayor and attested by the City Clerk in authentication of
such passage this 99th day of September, 1948.
