~ BE IT RESOLVED BY THE C~TY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BR~E~rON:
Section ~ That the public interest requires the following improvements to be
made.
Section 2. That it is the intention of the City Council of the City of Bremerton
to order the improvement of:
Callow Avenue between Ninth Street and Fifteenth Street
Montgomery Avenue between Ninth Street and Fifteenth Street
Olympic Avenue between Bu~-well Street and Sixth Street
by clee~in~, grubbing, grading for and construction of 5 ft. concrete sidewalks, con-
crete curbs and gutters and providing for drainage, together with the doing of any and
all other v~rk in connection therewith as may be necessary to make such improvements a
complete job, all in accordance with plans and specifications to be placed on file in
the office of the City Clerk in the City of Bremerton, reference to which is hereby
made for further particulars.
Section 3. The City Engineer of the City of Bremerton is hereby directed to sub-
mit to the City Comucil at or prior to the date f~xed for hearing protests to said im-
provements, the estimated cost and expense of s~¢h an improvement, and a statement of
the proportionate s~ount thereof, which should be borne by~ the property within the pro-
posed assessment district, and a statement of the aggregate assessed valuation of the
r8~l estate, exclusive of improvements, within such proposed district, according to
the valuation last placed upon it for the purpose of a general t~xation, together v~th
~ diagram or D~sm shelving thereon the lots, tracts, and parcels of land and ether prop-
erty vfnicb v~!] be specially benefited thereby and the estirmted amo~unt of th~ cost and
expense of such improvements to be borne by such lot, tract or parcel of land or other
property.
Section 4. That the cost s~d expense of s~id improvement to be borne by said
improvement district and exclusive of any portion borne by either the State of %~£ash-
ington or other goverr~ental agency, shall be assessed against said property include4
in said improvement district in proportion to said area, except certain ,~nits wherein
the special benefits cor~ferred upon the property are nqt fairly reflected by t~e use
of the ter~mtni and zone method, the assessment shall be made aEainst the property of
the district or any certain muir within the district in accordance with the special
benefits it will derive from the improvement without regard to the zone and termiri
method, o~ud in accordance with the pro~_sions of Section 936~ of Remington's Revised
Statutes of the State of Washington, the remainder of said cost of the improvement to
be paid for by arrangement, if any, with either the State of -Washington or other
government ~gency.
Section 5. The City Clerk be and he is hereby directed to give notice of the
dato of sue? bearing to eec~'~ ~'~m~r or reputed owner of any and all lots, tracts, par-
cels of land, or other property, specially benefited by the improvement, by mailing
to the o~er or reputed o~er of t~e property as sho~m on the ts~ ro.~ls of the County
treasurer, at the address shovm thereon, a notice setting forth the nature of the pro-
posed improvements, the tot~. estimated cost and the estimated benefits to the partic-
ular lot, tract or parcel, and the date of the hearing before the City Co~mission at
least 15 days before the date fixed, herein for such hearing.
Section 6. That Wednesday, the 30th day of June, 1948, at ll:O0 o'clock A.!~., of
said day be and the ss~ae is hereby~txed ~s the date of hearing protests against said
improvements by any persons intsrasted therein; and the City Clerk be a~d is hereby
authorized ~nd directed to publish ~ copy of this resolution in the official nev~paper
of sai~. City for at least two .successive issues, the first issue shall be at least 15
days p~or to the date herein fixed for s~id hearing, and said publication, togethsr
~th the aai]i~g cf the notices borein~bove ~rovided to the oYmers or reputed o~n~ers
of the lots smd p~ee!s of land included in such improvement as hereinbefore ~ set forth,
shall be due and legal notice to ali_ concerned in said proposed im~.rovements.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Bremerton, signed by the Mayor and
