Section io That the public interest requires the following improve~nents
to bo made.
Sec~.on 2, That it is the intention of the City Council of the City of
Brem~rton to order th~ improvement of the alley in Bloclm 5 and 8~
Phillips Addition to Bremerton, lying between Burwell Street and Gregory
Way, extending from Ktgh Avenue to State Avenue, by clearing, grading
and surfacing ~[th concrete pavement lb' wide and 6"' thick,
together with the doing of any and all ,ther work in connection therewith
as may be necessary to make~' such impro~ ments a complete job, all Ln
accordance with plans and specification~ to be placed on file in the office
of the City Clerk in the City of Bremer~;on, reference to which is hereby
made £'or further particulars.
Section 3, The City Engineer of the Ci';y of Brem~rton is hereby directed to
submit to the City Council at or prior ';o the dat~ fixed for h~aring pro-
tests to said improvements,~ ~he estimat,~d cost and expense of such an im-
£:ro-~ement, and a statement of the propo ~tionate amount thereof, which should
bc borne by the property within the proi~osed assessment district, and a
stat~cment of the aggregate assessed val~ation of the real estate, exclusive
of improveraen~s, within such proposed ~istrict, according to the valuation
last placud upon it for th~'purpose of ~ ~eneral taxation, together with a
distrain or plan showing thereon the lot ;, tracts, and parcels of land and
other property which will b.~ specially ~enefitod thereby and the estimated
amount of the cost and oxp~ns~ of such .mprov~m~nts to bo born~.~ by such lot,
tract or p,xrc~:l of land or oth~r proper
Section A. That there shall be assessed ~gainst that portion of the
prop~.rty lying between the termini of s~id impro~ement'~ and extending back
from the marginal lin~ of ~ach of said streets and alleys so improved to
tho middle of the block dn each side thereof, which dist~nc~ shall be at
le~st ninety Feet from said street mar in, in the mode prescribed by
Soction lJ, Chapter 98 of the S~ssion aws of the State of ~ashington for
l~ll, and S~.ction 2, Chapter 16~ for t e Session Laws o£ 1915, of said
Stat~,, the cost o£ said improvements emcept such ~s m~:y be borne by any de-
partmont of a~ninIstration of the Unit~:C Stat~s Government and except such
as may be borne by any Department or ~ ministration of the State of W~shing-
ton or the ~Jnitod States Gov=rramant fo: r~lief or other purposes.
Section 5. The City Ctor~ b~ and he i hereby directed to gi~e notice of
the date of such hearing 'to each o~rner or reputed owner of any and all lots,
tracts, or parcels of land, or other p:.op~.rty, specially benefited by 'the
improvement, by m~.~illng to thc owner o' repubo.d o~.~er of the property :us
sho;m on the tax rolls of the County T:'~suror, at th~ acdr~ss shown thereon,
a notice setting forth the nature of t]~e proposed improvements, thb total
cs:i:~.tcd cost and thc estin:~ted benof.ts to the particular lot, tract, or

Section 6o That Wsdnesda~ tho ~%h day of Jllly

as the date of hearing protest against said improvements by ,iny persons
intor.-sted therein; and the City Cl'erk be and is hereby authorized and
direc-Jod to publish a copy of this resolution in the offici:ll newspaper of
said c:~ty for at l~ast two successive issues, the first issue shall be at
least 15 days prior to the date herein fixed for said hearing, ~ind s~id
putlic~,tion, together with the mailing of the cards horeinabove provided to
'the owners or reputed ova~ers of the lots ind parcels of land included in
such iniprowement as hereinbefore set forth, shall be due ~.~,nd legal notice to
~ill concerned in said proposed improvements.
