WHEREAS, plans have been initiated by the Service Clubs of
the City of Bremerton for a memorial swimming pool to be constructed
with funds subscribed by the public; and
WHEREAS, heretofore a request has been made by the Lions' Club
that the City of Bremerton set aside as a public park a portion of
lands now owned by the City, such park to be used as a site for the
swi~uing pool; and
WHEREAS, a site has been selected upon lands now owned by the
City of Bremerton described as follows, to-wit:
Beginning at a point 30 feet South and 25 feet
West of the intersection of the center line
of Sixteenth St. and Broadway Ave.; thence
N. 88°25'18" West and along the North line of
said Lot 8, 115.15 feet; thence South 1°07'08''
West 244.12 feet; thence South 88°25'18" East
115.29 feet to the West margin of Broadway
Ave.; thence North 1°05'11'' East and along the
West margin of Broadway Ave.; a distance of 244.12
feet to the point of beginning; situate in Kitsap
County, Washington;
which property has been acquired by the Park Department.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council that the
property herein described acquired as a public park be used for the
construction of a public swimming pool for the City of Bremerton.
PASSED by the City Council, signed by the Mayor and attested
by the Clerk in authentication of such passage, thin'day of
October, 1949.
