of Bremerton composed of members of the Bremerton Housing Authority,
City Planning Commission and representatives of veterans' organiza-
tions at a meeting held on April 14, 1949, recommended that the City
acquire the site of the Anderson Cove housing project (Wash. 4$111)
for municipal purposes and
WHE~tEAS, the City Council of the City of Bremerton has concurred
in the recommendation of the committee and upon payment of the purchase
price has obtained title to the former project site and community
building ~maining thereon from the ~niSe~ States of America acting by
and through its Public Housing Administration and
~TEREAS, the City of Bremerton has for lack of a large centralized
area been required to scatter many of its facilities with a resulting
loss in economy and efficiency and
WHEREAS, the site of the housing project at Anderson Cove will
provide a centralized area for the location of many municipal activi-
ties including a store yard for the Water Department and a road mixing
plant for the Street Department and
WHEREAS, said area is now zoned for use for Glass I Residential
purposes only and it is necessary to change the classification of a
portion of said premises in order for the City to use and occupy said
premises for such municipal purposes leaving the remainder as Class I
Residential; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Bremerton that
the City Planning Commission be and it is hereby requested to reclas-
sify the following property in the City of Bremerton, to-wit:
That portion of the Northwest quarter of the
Northwest quarter of Section 14, Township 24
North, Range 1 East, W.M., described as follows:
Beginning at the Northwest corner of said
Northwest quarter of the Northwest quarter
of Section 14; thence N $9o$3,3~"E along
the North line of said Section 14 ~00.03
feet to the t~ue point of beginning; thence
N 89°5~'~B" E along said section line 8B1.~9
feet to the l~o~theaet corner of said Northwest
quarter of the Northwest quarter; thence
0°18'00" E 686.12 feet; thence S 89°86'01" W
~30.6~ feet; thence S O°l?'10" E B89.18 feet;
thence S 89e85'$0" W 492.07 feet; thence N
11°36'0~" E 9~4.65 feet to the North line of
said Section 14 and the true point of beginning.
from Class I Residential to Manufacturing and that a date and place
be fixed by the Planning Commission for a public hearing to be held
by the Commission as provided by Section ll05 of Ordinance No. 179B
and that such notice of said hearing be given as the laws of the
State of Washington and ordinances of the City of Bremerton may
require.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be certified
to be correct by the Cit~ Clerk and transmitted forthwith to the City
Planning Commission.
Passed by the City Council of the City of Bremerton, signed by
the Mayor and attested by the City Clerk in authentication of such
