WHEREAS, there has been recently annexed to the City of
~remerton certain contiguous property which has been incorporated
within and become a part of said City, and
WHEREAS, in addition to said annexed territory there are
other housing projects in the process oI' development within the
City oI' Bremerton, making it necessa~ for extension~ improvement
and better~nt o~' the municipal water system for the purpose o~~
serving said residential developments, and
WHEREAS, the City has and does hereby deem it necessary and
advisable that such work of extension~ improvement and betterment
shall be done by the City forces snd not by contract, and that the
costs of such work will exceed the sum ol' ~2500.00, and
WHEREAS, by reason oI' the acute shortage of necessary housi~
in said City, the City Council deems that an emergency exists requir-
ing tY~e i~maediate execution oX~ the public work involved in connection
with such extension, improvement and better~nt of the water system,
NOW Tt~REF0~E,
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the Gity oI' Bremerton
that the work oi' extending the water mains of the municipal water
system to additions 1 and 2, Olympic ~'~nor, Viewcrest Garden Apart-
ments and to the project being developed by Sylvan Park, Inc. be
done by City forces and not by contract, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that an:~emergency requires the execu-

tion of the extension~ improvement and bette~ent/and the same shall
be co~enced i~ediately, and
BE IT FURT~R ~SOLVED that the owners or developers of the
areas and housing accommodations be required to deposit ~th the
City of Bremerton a sum based on the estimated costs of materials
at .~2.25 per lineal foot of main installed before any such work ~hall
be commenced.
PASSED unanimously by the City Council of the City
Bremerton, signed by the l~iayor and Attested by the City Clerk
in authentication of such passage this 16th day oi' April, 1952.
