'WHEREAS, the City of Bremerton has in force and effect a
retirement and pension system which does not cover all of the
elected officials and other employees of the City; and
WHEREAS, under and pursuant to Chapter 184, Laws of
1951, as amended by Chapter 62, Laws of 195} of the State of
Washington, application may be made for coverage of such indi-
viduals under Old-Age and Survivors Insurance system as estab-
lished by Title ii of the Federal Social Security Act, as amended;
and
WHEREAS, to secure such coverage formal application shall
be made for coverage of eligible employees of the City of Bremerton;
NOW, THE~FORE,
BE iT ~SOLVED by the City Council of the City of Bremerton,
Washington, that the Mayor and the City Clerk be, and hereby are
authorized to make formal application for coverage of eligible
employees not presently covered by the retirement system of the
City, including elected officials and other employees except such
officers and employees who are compensated on a fee basis, to the
Employment Security Department of the State of Washington, such
application for coverage for such officers, officials and employees
to date from the /J'~ day or .~~.~_.~, 1955; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution,
duly certified by the City Clerk to be a true and correct copy,
be attached to the application and agreement and forwarded there-
with to the Employment Security ~epartment of the State of Washington,
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the City of
Bremerton, signed by the Mayor and attested by the City Clerk in
authentication of such passage this ~.~' day of , ·
