Bremerton, Washington, employing counsel for
certain services in connection with the issu-
ance and sale of $350,000 of water and sewer
revenue bonds of the city.
WHEREAS, by Ordinance No. 2102 of the city, passed and
approved February 9, 1955, the issuance of water and sewer revenue
bonds of the city in the total principal sum of not to exceed
$2,O00,000 was authorized in order to pay the cost of acquiring, con-
structing and installing certain additions and improvements to and ex-
tensions of the combined water and sewerage system of the city; and
WHEREAS, purs~2nt to O~dinance No. 2124, $1,300,000 of such
bonds were heretofore issued under date of October l, 1955, to provide
funds to acquire, construct and install part of such additions, im-
provements and extensions; and
WHEREAS, it is deemed necessary that the city issue and sell
an additional $350,000 of such bonds so authorized to provide funds to
acquire, construct and install more of those certain additions and
improvements to and extensions of such combined system as authorized
in said Ordinance No. 2102; and
WHEREAS, it is further deemed necessary and advisable that
bond counsel skilled in such matters be retained to draw the ordinances,
notices and other documents necessary for the issuance and sale of said
bonds and to furnish their opinion as to the validity thereof at the
time of their sale;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of
Bremerton, Washington, as follows:
That Preston, Thorgrimson & Horowitz, attorneys at law of
Seattle, Washington, be and they are hereby retained to perform the
services above set forth, and as compensation therefor the city
agrees to pay them the sum of $425.00, and in addition thereto agrees
to reimburse said counsel for any out-of-pocket expenses they may
incur in the perfor~nce of said services. The city also agrees to
furnish said counsel at their office in Seattle, Washington, with a
complete, certified transcript of all proceedings taken in the matter
of the issuance of said bonds.
PASSED by the City Council at a regular meeting thereof held
this 10th day of April, 195~, and approved by the Mayor on said date.
