HomeMy WebLinkAbout1061 BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Bremerton that the following
sidewalk has become unfit and unsafe for public travel and it is necessary for the
public safety and convenience that said sidewalk be reconstructed in accordance
with the Ordinances of the City of Bremertc~, and at the cost of the abutting
c~-rner. The sidewalk to be improved is located and described as follows:
Lots 1 and 2, Block 3, Original Town of Bremerton
BE IT FURTH~ RESOLVED that the City Clerk shall have personally served on
the abutting owners to the above described sidewalk, a notice giving said owners
until the _ 6th day of m -July . , 19 _~, to reconstruct said sidewalk in
accordance with the plans and specifications prepared by the City Engineer and
attached to said notice, and that said notice shall further specify that in case
said sidewalks are not repaired by said date that the City shall proceed to make
said repairs, under the supervision of the City Eo~ineer, at an estimated cost
shown thereon and the actual cost thereof shall be assessed against the abutting
property owners. That Vfednesday the 8th day of Jul~ , 19 ~9, at
10:00 A.M., P.S.T~ of said day shall be a~d is hereby set as the day on which the
City shall hear protests against the proposed improvement.
BE IT FURTHZR RESOLVED that upon the conclusion of said hearing and providing
protests are not sufficient for dismissal by the City Council the City will con-
struct said sidewalk in accordance with the plans and specifications.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that upon c~npletion cf said repair by the City of
Bremerton, the City Engineer shall prepare an assessment roll, assessing the
actual cost of said improvement against the abutting property and file the same
with the City Clerk~ and that Wednesday the 2~2.nd~ . .day of July ,
1957 , at 10:00 A.M.~ P.S.T. of said day at the Council Chambers in the City
Resolution No.
Hall shall be and the same is hereby fixed as the time and place of hearing
protests against such assessment~ Said~ day shall also be the day on which the
City shall assess the cost of such improvement against said property~
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk be, and he is hereby directed
and authorized to give notice of the time and plac~ of said hearing to the
abutting property owners, stating thereon the actual amount of said assessment.
An Ordinance shall be passed, confiming said assessment and shall fix the time
and manner for payment thereof.
