A RESOLUTION of the City Council of the City of
Bremerton, Washington, retaining bond counsel
for certain services to be rendered in connec-
tion with the authorization, issuance, sale
and delivery of water and sewer revenue bonds
of the city in the principal amount of $800~000.
WHEREAS, the City of Bremerton, Washington (hereinafter
called the ~'Cit~), now owns, maintains and operates its combined
water anm sewerage system, which is in need of certain additions,
improvements and extensions in order to provide the City, its in-
haDitants and people living in the vicinity thereof with an adequate
supDly of water for all needs and uses and with pro~er sewage col-
lection, treatment and disposal service· and
WHEREAS, in order to pay the cost of acquiring, constructing
and installing such additions and improvements to and extensions of
such combined system it is deemed necessary and advisable that the
City issue and sell its water and sewer revenue bonds in the principal
amount of ~b00,000; an~
WHEREAS, it is further deemed necessary and advisable that
nationally recognized bond counsel skilled in such matters be retained
to draw the proceedings necessary for the authorization, issuance and
sale of said bonds and to give their opinion as to the validity thereof
at t~e time of their sale;
NOW, T~EREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ~REMERTON as follows:
That Preston, Thorgri~nson, Horowitz, Starin & Ellis, bond
counsei of Seattle~ Washington, be and they are hereby retained to
perl'orm tae services above set forth, and as compensation therefor
the City agrees to pay such counsel the sum of One Thousand Three
~undred Fifty Dollars ($i,350), and in addition thereto, further agrees
to reimburse said counsel for any out-of-pocket expenses which they
may incur in the performance of such services, including but not being
iimitea to long distance telephone tolls and ferry fares. In addition
to the above, the City further agrees to furnish said counsel at their
office in Seattle, Washington, with a complete certified transcript of
all proceedings taken in the matter of the authorization, issuance and
sale of said bonds·
PASSED UNANIMOUSLY by the Council of the City of Bremerton,
Washington, at a regular meeting thereof, signed by the Mayor, and
attested by the City Clerk in authenti~ion of such passage, this 4th
day of August, 1965.
