WHEREAS the United States Economic Opportunity Act of 1964
provides a method for participation of the City of Bremerton in a
Neighborhood Youth Corps for a program of work experience and training
of unemployed young men and women to increase their employability,
and
WHEREAS, the City of Bremerton finds that it is in the best
interest of its citizens to participate in such program and that there
are young men and women eligible for and in need of the said program,
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City
of Bremerton does hereby authorize and sponsor participation in the
Neighborhood Youth Corps program~ does hereby appoint and authorize,
for the operation thereof, the'Mayor of the City of Bremerton, GIenn
K. Jarstad, and his successor, as the official signator of contracts
for the Sponsor as attested by the City Cler~ and does designate
as Project Director, C. C. Southerland, Personnel Director·

signed by the Mayor and attested by the City Clerk in authentication
