WHEREAS, the City of Bremerton, operating through
the Mayor and the City Civil Service Commission, are in conflict
as to the proper method for the appointment of an Assistant Fire
Chief for the City of Bremerton, and
WHEREAS, this conflict must be resolved by litigation
in the Kitsap County Superior Court, and
WHEREAS, the City Attorney will be representing the
Office of the Mayor in this litigation, it is necessary that the
City Civil Service Commission be properly represented at the
expense of the City;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of
the City of Bremerton, that John Bishop, Attorney at Law, a practi-
cing attorney in the City of Bremerton, be employed by the City to
represent the interest of the City Civil Service Commission in
connection with the above mentioned litigation and at a rate commen-
surate with the minimum fee schedule adopted by the Kitsap County
Bar Association.
Adopted by the City Council of the City of Bremerton,
Washington at its regular meeting held October 11, 1967.
