A RESOLDTION authorizing application for funding
assistance for an outdoor recreation project to
t~s Interagency Ccaeeittee for Outdoor Recreation
an~d bY the Marime Recreation Land Act of

WItCh,AS, the City Ccmncil of the City of Bremerton has approved
a "Comprehensive Plan" for the Urban Area which identifies a c~.~;~-mmity
park on the Port Washington Marrows in the northeast part of the
City as number one priority; and
WM~AS, mmd~r the provisions of the Marine Recreation Land Act,
'and the $10,0OO,0OO Outdoor ~eereation Bend Issue of 1964 state and
federal funding assistar~® ha~ been authorized and made available to
aid in financing the cost of land for parks and the construction of
outdoor recreational facilities of local public bodies; and
~S, -the City Council of the City of Bremerton considers it
in the best public interest to acquire a ccemautity park and beach
in the northeast part of the city and bordering on the Port Washington
Narrows;
NGg, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City
of Bremerton, Washington,
1) That the Mayor be authorized to make formal application
to the Interagency Committee for Outdoor Recreation for
fund assistance,
2) That an~ fund assistance so received be Used in the acqui-
sition of ap~rcm/matel~ five th~asand six hundred (5,600)
feet of scenic beach property adjacent to the northeast
part of the City of Bremerton, Washington,
3 ) That any. property acquired with financial aid through the
Interagency Committee for Outdoor Recreation be placed in
use as an outdoor recreation facility and be retained in
such use in perpetuity unless otherwise provided and agreed
to by the City Council, the Interagency Committee for
Outdoor Recreation, and any affected federal agency, and
4) That this resolution becce~ part of a formal application
to the Interagency Coemdttee for Outdoor Recreation.
Adopted by the City Council of the City of Bremerton, Washington, at its
regular meeting held ~~~__, 1968.
