HomeMy WebLinkAbout1439 I~EAS R.C.W. 42.24.080 provides that all claims against any
municipal corporation for furnishing materials, render~=ug services or
performing labor, or for any other contractual purpose, shall be aud-
ited, before payment, by an auditing officer duly appointed by the
municipal corporation, and
¥~P~J~EAS, this duty has been performed, to the present time, by
the City Auditor, whose position was created and duties outlined in
Ordinance No. 1651, and
~t~HEAS there are times when the City Auditor is not available
to audit such claims, and
V~Et~EAS under the Bremerton City Charter and as outlined in
Ordinance No. 1651, the City Clerk bears the final responsibility
for the disbursement of public funds,
N(~¥ TNE~FORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Bremerton that the City Clerk be, and he hereby is, designated as the
auditing officer in accordance with the provisions of R.C.W. 42.24.080,
and
BE IT FURTHER R~OLVED by the City Council of the City of Brem-
erton that the City Clerk be, and he hereby is, authorized to desig-
nate the City Auditor or the Assistant City Auditor, or both, to carry
out the responsibilities of auditing claims prior to their payment.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the City of Bremertoh,
signed by the Mayor and attested by the C~%ty Clerk in authentication
