A RESOLUTION approving the Combined Sewer Overflow (CSO)
Plan Update and Facility Plan for the reduction of combined sewer
overflow events in the city of Bremerton.
WHEREAS, Washington State Law limits the number of combined sewer overflow (CSO)
events to one overflow event per year, per outfall; and
WHEREAS, the State of Washington, Department of Ecology has issued an Order on
Consent requiring CSO events to be limited to one per year; and
WHEREAS, the City has been constructing CSO reduction projects throughout the city
reducing the volume of overflows; and
WHEREAS, the City has completed a Facility Plan for the city which evaluates altema,tives
for CSO reduction and selects the most cost effective alternative;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BREMERTON THAT:
The CSO Reduction Plan Update and Facility Plan, dated October, 2000, attached hereby reference,
for the reduction of combined sewer overflow events in the city of Bremerton is approved for
implementation.
