A RESOLUTION approving the Facility Plan for the reduction of
combined sewer overflow events in the Anderson Cove Basin.
WHEREAS, Washington State Law limits the number of combined sewer overflow (CSO)
events to one overflow event per year, per outfall; and
WHEREAS, the State of Washington, Department of Ecology has issued an Order on
Consent requiring CSO events in Anderson Cove Sub-Basin Numbers 8 and 9 be limited to one per
year by the end of 1999, and the CSO events in Anderson Cove Sub-Basin Numbers 10, 11 and 12
be limited to one per year by the of 2005; and
WHEREAS, the City has been constructing CSO reduction projects throughout the City
reducing the volume of overflows; and
WHEREAS, the City has completed a Facility Plan for the Anderson Cove Basin which
evaluates alternatives for CSO reduction and selects the most cost effective alternative;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF BREMERTON THAT:
The Facility Plan for the reduction of combined sewer overflow events in the Anderson Cove Road
Basin is approved for implementation.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Bremerton this 2nd day of
August ,2000.
