A RESOLUTION reviewing charges for the abatement of garbage and debris
on the property at 1552/1554 Houston Avenue and determining means of
collection.
WHEREAS, the City of Bremerton incurred costs for abatement of garbage and debris on the property
located at 1552/1554 Houston Avenue; and
WBEREAS, the Bremerton Municipal Code allows the City to recoup these costs either by personal
judgment against the property owner or as a lien against the property; and
WHEREAS, the City Council is charged with determining whether the fees are just, and how they
should be collected; and has considered the report of charges filed by the Building Official and any protests or
objection filed; and
WHEREAS, the Building Official of the City of Bremerton recommends the fees be collected as a lien
against the property located at 1552/1554 Houston Avenue, now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Bremerton:
1. That the abatement charges included in the report of the Building Official in the amount of
$1,111.57, with a credit for a payment of $555.97 leaving a balance of $555.60 for the property located at
1552/1554 Houston Avenue, Bremerton, attached hereto, are just and reasonable.
2. That the City of Bremerton will exercise its right to recapture abatement fees by filing a lien against
the property.
PASSED, by the City Council of the City of Bremerton this 31st day of May,
2000.
