Acknowledging a revised Vehicle Use Policy and Repealing Resolution No. 2285.
WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of Bremenon, City employees, City
administration and the City Council to establish a uniform City policy for the use of City owned
vehicles; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor has established a revised Use of City Owned Vehicle Use Policy
which addresses both the general and specific uses of the vehicles;
WHEREAS, it is the intent of the Council that the use of City owned vehicles will be
limited exclusively to those instances when it is necessary to conduct City business.
WHEREAS, it is not the intent of the Council that the use of City owned vehicles be
considered a benefit for employees.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BREMERTON:
That the Council ask the Audit Committee to direct the City Auditor to perform periodic
audits and report on the effectiveness of; and the City's adherence to, the vehicle use policy; and
That the City Council repeal Resolution No. 2285 in its emirety.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that any future revisions to the Use of City Owned
Vehicle policy will be reported to the Council by the Mayor.
