A RESOLUTION ALTERING SPEED LIMITS WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS.
WHEREAS, the City Council, pursuant to WAC 308-330-270, has the authority to alter
maximum speed limits permitted on the basis of an engineering and traffic investigation; and
WHEREAS, an engineering and traffic investigation has determined that the maximum
speed limits permitted under RCW 46.61.400 or 46.61.440 is less than is reasonable and safe
under the conditions found to exist upon the roadways located at:
1. Belfair Valley Road, east of the city limit to west city limits;
2. Kitsap Way from Wycoff Avenue to west city limits;
3. Riddell Road from west city limits to the center of SR303 intersection, south half
of Riddell Road from SR303 intersection, south half of Riddell Road from SR303
intersection to Petersville Road;
4. Warren Avenue from Burwell Avenue to Sheridan Road;
5. Wheaton Way from Sheridan Road to Riddell Road; and
6. National Avenue from south city limits to Kitsap Way;
now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Bremerton:
That the following roadways shall have increased speed limits as indicated below:
1. Belfair Valley Road from east city limits to west city limits be set at 45 MPH;
2. Kitsap Way from Wycoff Avenue to west city limits be set at 35 MPH;
3. Riddell Road from west city limits to the center of SR303 intersection, south half
of Riddell Road from SR303 intersection to Petersville Road be set at 35 MPH;
4. Warren Avenue, 30 MPH from Burwell Avenue to Sheridan Road and 35 MPH on
Warren Avenue Bridge;
5. Wheaton Way from Sheridan Road to Riddell Road 30 MPH
6. National Avenue from south city limits to Kitsap Way be set at 35 MPH.
