RESOLUTION ADOPTING THE WEST HILLS AREA PLAN AS AN AMENDMENT
TO THE BREMERTON COMPREHENSIVE PLAN.
WHEREAS, unincorporated areas of Kitsap County in the general
vicinity of the Auto Center Way business district and State Route
3 have been experiencing growth and development pressures, as well
as an increasing interest in annexation; and
WHEREAS, the City of Bremerton provides urban services to
these areas that include public streets, water and sewer lines,
reservoirs, sewage treatment plant and other services, all of which
require long-range planning in advance of growth and development;
and
WHEREAS, the West Hills Area Plan was prepared as an amendment
to the City's Comprehensive Plan to help guide future zoning,
annexation, development and related services within the subject
area; and
WHEREAS, ample opportunity was provided for public
participation and comment, including a neighborhood workshop on
December 14, 1989, Planning Commission public hearings on November
21, and December 19, 1989, and a City Council public hearing on
February 7, 1990; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BREMERTON CITY COUNCIL
That the West Hills Area Plan, attached hereto and
incorporated herein as Exhibit "A", which includes the Planning
Commission's pre-annexation zoning recommendations as well as long-
range proposals for land uses, streets, sewer and water systems and
related improvements, will be in the best interests of the City of
Bremerton and area property owners, and is hereby adopted as an
amendment to the Bremerton Comprehensive Plan.
PASSED by City Council of the City of Bremerton this 7th
day of February , 1990 .
