Home My WebLink About2346RESOLUTION NO. 2346 RESOLUTION OF INTENT TO ADOPT A RESOLUTION OF NOTICE OF INTENT OF THE CITY OF BREMERTON, WASHINGTON, TO ADOPT AN AMENDMENT TO THE CITY'S SHORELINE MASTER PROGRAM TO APPLY THE R12 SHORELINE ENVIRONMENTAL DESIGNATION TO RECENTLY ANNEXED LANDS ALONG KITSAP LAKE. WHEREAS, the City of Bremerton has an approved Shoreline Master Program which includes Shoreline Environmental Designations for all shorelines within the City limits; and WHEREAS, the City of Bremerton recently annexed a 109.6 acre area known as the West Kitsap Lake Annexation Area, which fronts on the north and west sides of Kitsap Lake; and WHEREAS, an amendment to the Shoreline Master Program is necessary to apply the City's Shoreline Environmental Designation to that annexation area; and WHEREAS, the State of Washington must approve any amendments to the Shoreline Master Program in accordance with procedures contained in WAC ~173-19; NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BREMERTON CITY COUNCIL: Section 1. The City of Bremerton intends to amend its Shoreline Master Program to include the shoreline of the recently annexed West Kitsap Lake Annexation Area in the R12 Shoreline Environmental Designation, as shown on Exhibit "A" which is attached hereto and incorporated herein. Section 2. This proposed Shoreline Master Program Amendment shall be sent to the State of Washington Department of Ecology for review and approval. Section 3. Following State DOE approval, the City Council shall act upon this proposed amendment as approved by the Department of Ecology.
