A RESOLUTION OF THE BREMERTON CITY COUNCIL WHICH
FORMALLY ADOPTS AN AMENDMENT TO THE 1990 FINAL
COMPREHENSIVE SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT PLAN FOR KITSAP
COUNTY DATED JUNE 1992
WHEREAS, the Bremerton City Council has reviewed the Final
Amendment to the 1990 Final Comprehensive solid Waste
Management Plan for Kitsap County dated June 1992; and
WHEREAS, the Final Amendment is substantially in agreement with
the Solid Waste Policies of the City of Bremerton as
described in Bremerton City Council Resolution #2323;
and
WHEREAS, Ordinance #4219 of the City of Bremerton established that
the City of Bremerton would jointly participate in solid
waste planning activities with Kitsap County as
established by the Kitsap County Comprehensive Solid Waste
Management Plan; and
WHEREAS, Ordinance #4219 also affirms the City's power to establish
levels and types of solid waste services within the
corporate limits of the City of Bremerton pursuant to
Section 10 of the Washington Solid Waste Act of 1989; and
WHEREAS, this Amendment was drafted under the guidance of the
Kitsap County Solid Waste Advisory Committee of which the
City of Bremerton is a member; and
WHEREAS, the Bremerton City Council adopted the 1990 Final
Comprehensive Solid waste Management Plan by Resolution
#2306;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT:
The City of Bremerton hereby adopts the FinalAmendment to
the Kitsap County Comprehensive Solid Waste Plan dated
June 1990; and
2. The City of Bremerton reaffirms its powers under Ordinance
#4219; and
The Bremerton Solid Waste Advisory committee and City
Officials are to ensure that all solid waste planning
efforts comply with this plan, existing City ordinances
and Washington State Laws pertaining to solid waste
management activities.
