A RESOLUTION of the Bremerton CIty Council
adopting the Campus/Evergreen Neighborhood Plan as an
element of the Bremerton Comprehensive Plan for the
area bounded on the south by Eleventh Street, on the west
by Naval Avenue, and on the north and east by shorelines,
WHEREAS, the Bremerton Department of Community Development received Community
Development Block Grants (CDBG) for the preparation of neighborhood plans for the "Evergreen"
and "Campus" neighborhood, which were combined into a single larger neighborhood for
purposes of this project; and
WHEREAS, a citizen Involvement program was Initiated early and continued throughout
the preparation of this plan; and
WHEREAS, the neighborhood plan Identifies and ranks both positive and negative
characteristics of the neighborhood and recommends specific actions related to those
characteristics and to the neighborhood planning goals, Including proposals for zoning
amendments, park expansion, redevelopment activities, and streetscape Improvements; and
WHEREAS, the planning process used In this neighborhood plan, as well as the statistical
data and other Information that It contains, will be useful In upcoming revisions to the citywide
Comprehensive Plan as well as for the long-range management of this neighborhood; and
WHEREAS, the environmental checklist for the Neighborhood Plan was reviewed and a
Determination of Nonsignificance (DNS) was issued on October 28, 1992; and
WHEREAS, the Bremerton Planning Commission conducted a public study session on
October 20, 1992 and a public hearing on November 17, 1992, during which it considered the
Information provided In the staff reports and by Interested citizens before formulating
recommendation for City Council adoption; and
WHEREAS, the City Council, following its public hearings on December 16, and
December 23, 1992, voted to adopt the neighborhood plan; now therefore
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BREMERTON CITY COUNCIL that the Campus/Evergreen
Neighborhood Plan, a copy of which is attached hereto, Is hereby adopted as an element of
the Bremerton Comprehensive Plan.
