This proposed fee adjustment was developed over the past few months
by a subcommittee of the Golf Course Board of Directors and
approved by the board at their November meeting.
The subcommittee had several goals they were trying to meet as they
considered changes to the current fee schedule:
1. The financial feasibility of an 18 hole expansion is
dependent on annual fee increases of approximately the
inflation rate plus 2.84. The course has operated under
the current fee schedule for the past two seasons.
Every effort should be made to continue discount
opportunities that will favor local golfers. All
discounting methods (passes and punchcards) have been
retained and experienced only modest increases.
(exception is couple's passes where the proposed fees
have been increased to an amount that's 50% greater than
the single passes.)
The majority of weekend players paying the 9 or 18 hole
rate are from out of the area. Therefore these two rates
have been targeted for the greatest percent of increase.
The staff of the Golf Course and the Parks and Recreation
Department are committed to providing the best possible golfing
experience to our patrons at Gold Mountain. If we hope to 1)
continue to offer a quality product out here at Gold Mountain, 2)
replace our outdated and undersized maintenance facility and 3)
expand the course to include an additional 18 holes we must follow
through with annual increases.
This proposal is scheduled to be considered by the City Council at
their December 23rd meeting. If you have questions regarding the
proposal please call Vicki Vanneman, Director of Parks and
Recreation at 478-5305.
