A RESOLUTION determining the method of disposing forfeited f'irearms.
WHEREAS, RCW 9.41.098. allows local legislative authorities to determine the
manner of disposing fire, arms judicially forfeited or forfeited due to a failure to make a
claim under RCW 63.32.010or 63.40.010;and
WHEREAS, it is not in the interest of the public peace, safety and welfare to permit
forfeited firearms to be auctioned, thereby allowing a large number of previously forfeited
firearms to be present in our society; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Bremenon:
That except as provided in RCW 9.41.098(2)(b)(c) and (d), firearms that are
(i) judiciaily forfeited and no longer needed for evidence; or (ii) forfeited due to a failure
to make a claim under RCW 63.32.010or 63.40.010,will be destroyed.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Bremerton this 22nd day of June, 1994.
