A RESOLUTION authorizing and establishing handling fees for
dishonored checks and repealing Resolution No. 2186.
WHEREAS, in the conduct of the City's business. the various departments of the
City routinely accept checks in payment of debts owed the City; and
WHEREAS, from time to time certain of the checks accepted by the City are
subsequently dishonored necessitating additional costs to the City; and
WHEREAS. it is deemed necessary and proper to pass those additional costs on
to those responsible; and
WHEREAS, these fees were last adjusted in 1987; now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BREMERTON CITY COUNCIL:
That Resolution No. 2186 is hereby repealed.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY THE BREMERTON CITY COUNCIL:
That the handling fee for dishonored checks shall be $25.00 (twenty-five and
no/l00 dollars) per check.
