A RESOLUTION regarding the establishment of a permit
surcharge for permit system improvements.
WHEREAS, The Bremerton City Council establishes development
fees by resolution; and,
WHEREAS, The Bremerton City Council desires to acquire
capital equipment to improve the development permit process; and,
WHEREAS, The Bremerton City Council believes that the cost
of implementing the improved permit system should be borne
primarily by those who stand to benefit from the permit system.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Bremerton City
Council does establish a five dollar surcharge on all development
permits submitted to the City of Bremerton for a three year
period beginning March 1, 1995; (Note: for single family
residential projects which may include multiple constructions
permits, only 1 surcharge will be assessed); and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, the proceeds of this surcharge
shall be used only for permit process capital purchases
identified in the listing of needs attached as Exhibit A; and,
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED, that the City Treasurer shall
establish a separate account to monitor the activity of this
surcharge.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Bremerton this
8th day of March, 1995.
