WHEREAS, The City of Bremerton applies zoning to implement publicly adopted land use development patterns; and WHEREAS, The City of Bremerton and the State of Washington use environmental regulations to protect natural resources which are of public value; and WHEREAS, The City of Bremerton recognizes that these regulations must be administered fairly and openly and that these regulations need constant adjustment and monitoring to assure an effective and efficient delivery; and WHEREAS, The City of Bremerton believes that initiative 164 would require such an exorbitant amount of taxation to pay for the implementation of these regulations that the City and the State will not continue the use of zoning or environmental regulations; and WHEREAS, The extent of Public Policy change proposed by Initiative 164 requires the scrutiny of public debate and ballot; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Bremerton: That the City of Bremenon does support the placement of initiative 164 on public ballot as written so that the citizens of Washington State will have a clear decision as to whether or not to continue the use of zoning and environmental regulations within our communities. PASSED by the City Council of the City of Bremerton this 5th day of April, 1995. Council President 1-164.IR3 - Resolution - 415195
