A RESOLUTION regarding selection of Fletcher Wright as Developer of
the Downtown Waterfront Urban Renewal Area.
WHEREAS, the Bremerton City Council has adopted the Downtown
Waterfront Urban Renewal Plan (March 1989); and,
WHEREAS, the Bremerton City Council has endorsed the market
analysis, financial analysis and development program concepts in
the Waterfront/CBD Revitalization Implementation Study (Leland
Study - June, 1993); and,
WHEREAS, the Bremerton City Council has monitored the Downtown
Waterfront Development Plan (Tonkin-Hoyne Study - Fall, 1994); and,
WHEREAS, the Bremerton City Council has monitored the Joint
Request for Proposals for the Bremerton Waterfront Redevelopment
and Intermodal Terminal Project (May, 1995); and,
WHEREAS, the Bremerton City Council has been presented with
the Fletcher Wright response to Joint Request for Proposals;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Bremerton City Council
does endorse the selection of the Fletcher Wright proposal for
development of a Memdrandum of Understanding which will summarize
the proposed business plan and other terms and conditions regarding
redevelopment of the Downtown Waterfront Urban Renewal area
including parcels of land owned by the City of Bremerton; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT, the Bremerton City Council
encourages the Mayor to support the redevelopment process with all
resources available to the project.
