SUMMARY:
Proposal to increase the Parks & Recreation Department's capability to design and complete park
planning, renovation and construction projects in-house by eliminating the Administrative Analyst
position and creating a new position entitled Park Development Planner. The incumbent has been
officially notified of this proposed action. It is anticipated that there will an initial annual savings of
approximately $7,000 from this realignment, which will be used to fund additional seasonal
maintenance labor. If approved by Council, this action will be effective as of September 1 S\ 2006.

FISCAL IMPACTS (Include Budgeted Amount): Projected total cost for the new position is
anticipated to be $73,333. The current Administrative Analyst position has an annual combined salary
and benefit cost of$80,048.

Move to approve the recommendation to eliminate the position of Administrative Analyst and add
Park Development Planner to Professional Pay Plan at Pay Band 11.
